TXT to Park
Pay for your parking straight from your TelstraClear mobile.
Needing loose change is now a thing of the past with TXT-a-Park. You can now pay for metered parking in locations throughout New Zealand by sending a text message from your mobile.
Look for the silver pay-and-display parking meters, which will let you use TXT-a-Park, and with the payment billed directly to your account, it's so easy.
What does it cost?
As well as the usual parking fees, you will be charged a 50c transaction fee for using this service. This transaction fee is the same for one or two hour parking.
Example
One hour's parking at $4 an hour would be charged at $4.50
Two hour's parking at $4 an hour would be charged at $8.50
How do I use TXT-a-Park?
Every TXT-a-Park machine has full instructions, but simply
- Press the Text Parking button
- Costs and TXT codes for one or two hour parking will display
- Using Text, send the code displayed for the parking you want to short code 7275 (PARK)
- The machine will display the time you'll be paid up to, and ask for confirmation. (You will be charged when you press the confirmation button)
- A receipt will then print, which you need to display on your dashboard, and a confirmation TXT will be sent to your mobile
If there's a problem with TXT-a-Park, the machine will display "Text Parking is unavailable - please use coin". It will also tell you if the transaction was unsuccessful.
