What is it?

TelstraClear's Trans-Tasman Private IP delivers 'any to any' connectivity. This delivers maximum flexibility when integrating new locations or changing others in the network.

In effect, Private IP transforms multiple offices into a single office using private connections, thereby speeding up business processes and reducing costs.

Instead of hosting applications at every office, more customers are realising the benefits of hosting their applications from a main site and connecting their staff to these applications using data networks.  Nowadays, more business applications are IP based and so it makes sense to use a data network that manages IP reliably.

Technical

TelstraClear's Trans-Tasman Private IP network uses the self-healing Southern Cross fibre optic cable to connect its state of the art New Zealand Private IP network to Telstra's IP Solutions offerings within Australia.

The TelstraClear Trans-Tasman Private IP core network is monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days per week to help prevent problems and ensure optimal service availability.

Private IP has three classes of service;
"Data Transfer" for non-time critical applications where data traffic has more relaxed latency/ variation and data delivery ratio objectives (eg Email, Messaging).
"Interactive" for mission critical business applications where data traffic requiring low latency, low delay variation and good data delivery ration (eg CRM, ERP).
"DcoS/Multimedia" for real time applications such as voice or other traffic requiring minimum latency, minimum delay variation and a high data delivery ration (eg Voice, video, multimedia).

Getting started

TelstraClear's new generation network (NGN) uses optical fibres to move information between office locations at speeds of up to 1Gbps. When connected with Private IP, the bottleneck of a traditional WAN can simply disappear thanks to our network-based high-speed routers.
